Archives & Archeology Workshop

Learn how archives and archeology can be used in teaching history. Participants will get a tour of Franklin Court and the President's house archeology sites, learn about the park archival collection, speak with an archeologist, and receive lesson plans. Teachers from Pennsylvania and New Jersey will earn four professional development (Act 48) credit hours while taking an archeologist's look at Independence National Historical Park. Educators will learn about teaching with primary source documents, discover how archivists and archeologists use clues to piece together history, and have the opportunity to explore Independence Park Institute's hands-on classrooms.
